Hanatoux, speaking in the Chamber of Deputies, said he did not desire a French settlement in Yunnan or the seizure of more Chinese territory. Five Russian warships at Port Arthur are provided with 11,000 tons of coal. The Rußsisn demands in China, including the rights for the construction of tbe Manchurian railway, have been conceded.
