SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT WAIN GARO.
A boy, named Samuel Gregory, about 14 years of a»e, whose parents are believed to reside in Auckland, met with a seiious accident at Waiugaro, on Sunday afternoon. The boy, who was in the employ of Mr McMillan, went to round up some horses a thort distance away, and instead (f walkiug, took the horse of Mr George Palmer, which was tied, up close at hand. The stirrups were too long, aud the lad put his feet into the leathers, and rode off, The work should have only taken a few minutes, and as he did not show up after a lapse of half an hour, some uneasiness as to his safety was experienced, and Messrs Palmer and Harold Bull set out to look for him. They found him behind a hill, about half a mile from the house, in a semi unconscious condition, having been thrown from the horse and dragged a considerable distance. He was immediately carried back to the house, where he received every kindness and attent'on, and yesterday the unfortunate lad in charge of Mr McMillan wa3 brought in to the Waikato Hospital. They drove in is far as Ngaruawahia. and thence by train to Ham lton. Dr. Kenny found that he was suffering from concussion of the braiu, and had several very bad cuts about the face and forehead. The body was considerably bruised, and one of ln's ankles was sprained. The lad is in a very critical condition, and Dr. Kenny does not feel inclined to venture an opinion as to his chances of recovery just yet.
