S RET MEETINGBRITISH .SUZERAINTY. London, March 16. The Times states that a full meeting of the Transvaal Yolksrnad was held in President Kruger's housj. Strong opinions were expressed agaiust the British suzerainty, and the Government were authorised to take advantage of any British complications elsewhere to denounce the suzerainty. Pretoria, March 17. The Volksmad has prorogued. President Kruger, in his closing Bpeecb, said the statement that he hud tried to influence Judge Kolze was false. The devil himself never spoke a greater lie. It was impossible, he said, to know what would happen in the Transvaal in the immediate future, but the Boers must stand together. He concluded by saying : " My reply to Mr Chamberlain's despatch will show the Transvaal people that wp are a Government." Mr Kotze has issued a manifesto, in which ho asks the country to decide whether it will continue to be governed by an autocrat. Capetown, March 17. It is repotted that the Cape Crown law officers hold the dismissal of Mr Kotze as a breach of the London Con renUon. Mr Cecil Rhodes states that the present Government of the Transvaal only exists on a basis of 15,000 votes, and embarrasses the union of South Africa. _____________
