Mr E. Turner's Weekly Report.— Prices of fruit remain about the same as last week, with the exception of plums and peaches, both of which show an improvement in price. Apples, eating 2s 61 to os 6d per case, cooking la 6d to 3s 6d, according to quantity ; pears, Williams 3£d lb, Louis Bon \%d to 2d lb, other sorts to 2£d ; plums, 2d to 3d lb ; peaches, 6d to Is dozen ; lemons, 6s per case ; grapes, outdoor lid to ljd lb, hothouse 6d to Is lb ; tomatoes, unless very good, quite a drug ; passion fruit, half-cases, 2s to 3s ; cocoanuts, 8s sack. The Ovalau arrived from Fiji, Tonga aud Samoa last Saturday with a large cargo of fruit, about one-half the cargo consigned to this firm. Prices for bananas ranged low, Is 9d to 2s 31 per bunch ; half-cases, 3s to os, according to condition. Poultry market steady at last prices. Potatoes, £4 10s to £5 10s ton, according to quality ; onions, £4 10s to £5 ton. Mr Alexander Aitken's Reports, under date, 11th March.—Notwithstanding the advance of the season, great quantitiea of first-class fruit continue to arrive and sell at very payable prices. Pears and peaches are in great demand, aod plums are eagerly snapped up. Really good apples are sought for. Potatoes are weak. Onions are scarce and rising. Maize and oats arc firm and scarce. Butter and eggs are scarce aud firming. Cheese plentiful. Farmers' bacon dull of sale unless cleanly butchered. Pigs are firmer, and poultry retains late valueß.
