AN ELECTION DODGE.
(BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Wellington, Last Night. It has transpired that in the ballot taken by the labour bodies, prior to the by-election, the Tailors' Union received 143 ballot papers, its registered membership being only 100, while the Seamen's Union received 500 papers for a membership of under 60.
