SUPREME COURT.

CRIMINAL SESSIONS. The following cases were dealt with at Auckland on Thursday : Ngoho Ngoho, for breaking and enter ing and theft at the Star Hotel, Kiliikihi, was found guilty and sentenced to 12 months' ■imprisonment with hard labour. The jury recommended accused to mercy, and His Honor said, although he did not agree with the recommendation, he would give weight to it, and not pass so heavy a sentence as he would otherwise have done. Raymond Miller, a boy about 14, was charged with indecently assaulting a female under the age of 16. Accused pleaded guilty, but after hearing the evidence the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and he was discharged. Alexander Howe was found guilty of horse-stealing and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment with hard labour. James White, for obtaining money under false pretences, was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, His Honor taking into consideration the fact that prisoner had already been five months in gaol. A charge of blackmailing was brought against James MuGifford, but a verdict of not guilty was returned. William Schmidt, for breaking and entering a shop in Auckland and stealing therefrom, received a seutence of four months' imprisonment. The murder case preferred against Mary Rainsbottom for the murder of her infant will be taken on Weduesday next.
