THE SOUDAN.
Cairo, March 8. Maiimud, the Dervish general, burned Metammeh, a town in East Soudan, and has concentrated his forces at Shetidy. He has under his command 11,000 riflemen «»nd spearsmen, and 2000 horsemen. Osman Digna is slotvly advancing with a considerable force, against the British.
