TE AROHA DOMAIN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held in the Domain Office on Thursday, when there were present: Commissioners Gavin (in the chair), Knock, Gallagher and Macky. A letter was read from Mr D. Laughton, of Sydney, expressing his gratitude to the Board for the concession they had granted in the matter of allowing him free baths for one month. He had been compelled to use crutches for eight years, yet such was the improvement effected by the course of the baths that he expected to be able to go away in a month's time without them. He considered that the value of No. 2 bath could hardly be overestimated.—The Board unanimously decided to allow him another month's use of the baths. This privilege was Also granted to another applicant. An offer from Mr T. C. Bell to lease the laths from 9 to 11 p.m for a rental of £2 per week was declined. Mr C. E. Alderton, editor of The Resources of New Zea Lind, wrote that they intended making a special feature of the thermal spriog districts in that publication, and if sufficient encouragement were offered by the Bowl, special mention would be made of Te Aroha.— The Board decided to go into committee to consider Mr Alderton's terms. It was decided to write Mr Cadtnan asking if any arrangements had been made to furnish the ladies and gcnt3 waiting rooms in the new Lath house. Commissioner Knock reported that he had had the floor of the Octagon concreted afresh, and on his suggestion it was decided to raise the pump stand in the centre of the house and put a new pump thrreon, wh : ch would make this favourite driijking resort more inviting than it is at prei< nt. The account of J. Clark for the erection of the fence on the Wilson-street boundary of the Domain was held over, the works committee not being satisfied at the manner in which the contract was carried out. Tenders having been invited for 12 month's advertising, the tender of the Te Aroha Times was accepted. The tender of J. B. Johnson for the supply of 10 cases of kerc.ser.ee at lis lid per case was accepted The clerk submitted the following statement of the Board's finances :—To credit balance from previous month, £129 10s 4d ; receipts, baths, £67 15s 4d; towels, £9 2s 8d ; library, £1 4s; tennis, £5 18s Gd ; total, £213 10s 101; less accounts to I c passed for payment, £sl f>s 8d ; leaving credit balance at date of £162 5s 2d.
