MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY.

A telegram from Wellington states the Government has decided to push on with the permanent survey of the North Island Main Trunk Riilway lino. Mr Louch, Government Engineer at Pahiafcua, left that town to day to continue the survey from the Ohiuemoa district in Wanganui watershed, and it is expected that m about a year he and Mr Holmes, who is carrying on the survey from the southern end, will meet each other.

(B-i COBBESPONDHNT). Wellington-, Last Night. The workmen employed on the formation works at the northern portion of tho North Island Main 'Trunk Railway have reached the Ohinemoa stream, a tribu tary of the Wanganui river, whilst a large number of hands are engaged on the southern end.
