The Wiieato Argus Ofkick, Wednesday. W. J. HUNTER'S STOCK SALE. At Mr W. J. Hunter's Ohaupo sale on Tuesday, there was only a small muster of stock, about 200 of all classes, and most of those weic calves. No grown steers offered, and very few dairy cows. The tone of the market was dull, and several pens were passed. Prices as follows :—Springing heifers from £2 lis to £3 10s ; dairy cow, £5; calves weic numerous, and of good quality, but many of them were rather young, selling from 12s 6d to 19s for mixed sexes; pedigree Berkshire boars, bred by Mr H. Rogerc, three and a-half months old, from 22s 6d to 30s ; young cows, with calves at foot, 358 ; empty cows, £2 us; yearling steers, 255. Sheep : About 400 were yarded, but only a few sold under the hammer; two and four-tooth wethers, 5s ; two and four-tooth ewes, 53; some few pens afterwards were sold privately. —(Own Correspondent).

AUCKLAND MARKETS. (by telegraph.—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night.—Messrs Hunter and Nolan report:—Horses : A large number was entered Jor a*le, and fair prices were obtained. Heavy draughts, £l2 5s to £23 ; medium ditto, £9 to £ls 10s ; light, harness, £2 12s 6d to £lO 15s ; hacks, £2 12s to £9 ; weedy horses, 12s 6d to £2. Hides maintained late values. Ox hides, 3£d to 6d ; cow and steer, 2jjd to 3sd ; calrekinn, 3£d to 4J-d ; bones, £3 ss; tallow, 11a 9d to 13s 6d ; wool in bags, 5d to 6d per lb ; pieces, ljd to 3Jd; sheepskins, Is 6d to 4s 6(1; lambskins, 8d to 2s 8d ; pelts, 4d to Is Sd. Cattle were yarded in large numbers, and last week's prices were fully maintained. Ox beef eold at 16s to 17s per 1001 b, and cow 15s. Steers realised £5 to £8 Is 6cl; cows, £3 7a 6d to £4 7s 6d ; dairy cows, £2 6s to £6 15s. Sheep : A good number was yarded, and prices were in favour of the purchaser. Wethers sold from 5s 9d to 10s 6d ; ewes, oi 6d to 7s 6d ; lambs, 3s to 7s 3d.

HAWERA MARKETS. Thk Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited), report nnder dute—Hawera, February 17th. —We held our Stratford sale on Friday, the 11th hist., when we submitted a fair entry of cattle. Bidding was Blow and little, or nothing done at the hammer, but most of the stock was placed before leaving the yards at exceedingly low prices. We quote : Eighteen-months to twenty months steers, £1 5s to £1 10s ; yearling steers, 15s to £1 2s 6'cl ; cows and calves, £1 8s to £1 16s ; weaners, 6s 6d to 10s ; ISmontbs heifers, £1 to £1 6s. At the Hawera Yards, on Wednesday, the 16th inst., a fair number of cattle was yarded which consisted most of fat cows, which were practically neglected. There was also a large entry for sheep, for which biddiDg was exceedingly slow, would be buyers evidently preferring to wait for the forthcoming sheep fairs. We quote : —Fat cows, £2 7s 6d to £2 15s ; springers, £2 5s to £2 12s 6d ; empty heifers, £1 10s to £1 17s 6d ; yearling steers, £1 to £1 ss; yearlings (mixed), 17s 6d to £l. Sheep : Forward ewes, 33 3d to 4s 6d ; cull ewes, Is 5d ; cull lambs, Is 10d.
