Athletic Clpb.— A meeting of the members of the Waipa Amateur Athletie Club, took place on Saturday evening last, at Mrs Finch's Hotel. There was a good attendance. Mr W. H. Grant was called to the chair, and proceeded to read the balance-sheet, which shewed a balance to credit of the sum of two pounds thirteen shillings, which was considered to be satisfactory ; no less a sum than about £3O having been spent in improving the course. The balance • sheet was passed unanimously. The meeting then proceeded to elect the officers for the ensuing year, when the following gentlemen were duly proposed and elected, viz. : President: Mr F. W. Lang, M.H.R. Vice-Presidents : Messrs I. Hodgson, \V. H. Granr. J. H. Scott, F. C. Germaun, George Edgccumbe and R. Hall. Committee : Messrs George Berry, E. B. Aubin, C. H. Reynolds, G. Miles, W. H. James, W. Macky, C. Macky, I. T. Hodgson, J. Hodgson, R. Kay, S. Conn, H. Bell, junr., C. H. Prince, C. H. Bowden, J. Rylurn and G. McGee.. Judges : Messrs Stewart, Reid and C. Bowden. Staiter : Mr W. Macky. Handicappers : Messrs J. Ryburn, W. Macky and \V. M. Chappell. Mr E. Wickham was re-appoinicd as auditor. Secretaiy and Treasurer : Mr G. Berry. A vote of thanks to the Chairman and another to the Secretary and Auditor was passed unanimously. Thkeshing. Mr Harry Short's newly-imported threshing machine is now in full work at Whatiwhatihoe, and is giving most satisfactory results with its work.—(Own Correspondent).
