SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. TRAIN SERVICES. Thjj following letter has been received by Mr \V. Bright, the secretary of the South Auckland Racing Club, from the Traffic Manager's Office, Auckland, in reference to the special services provided by the department for the annual race meeting, to take place on the Claudelands racecourse, Hamilton, on Saturday, March sth:—"ln reply to your letter of the 16th instant, I have the honour to inform you that in view of the fact that you have guaranteed the £32 for the Paeroa special, 1 have now as an experiment decided to run a return evening special to Cambridge and another to Te Awamutu oh the evening of March sth. This prevents any inconvenience to ordinary passengers which might arise if the usual time-table trains were detained instead. Excursion tickets to Hamilton Fast or West will be issued (on March sth), a'so from Cambridge, Te Awamutu and intermediate stations, in addition to those from Paeroa, Auckland and intermediate stations. They will all be available for return till March 7th. The times of departure of the evening specials from Hamilton East will approximately bo as follows :—To Auckland and intermediate stations, 6 p.m.; to Paeroa and intermediate stations, 6.5 p.m. ; to Cambridge an A intermediate stations, 6 5 p.m. Cambridge passengers will change trains at Ruakura. A special train will leave Frankton for Te Awamutu at 6.15 p.m., after arrival at Franktou of 6 p.m. special from Hamilton East. On the morning of March sth the Te Awamutu train will run on to Hamilton East.

Otasdhd Pony Cup.—Lady Howitzer, 1; Kit, 2; Bit of Fashion, 3. Dividend, £1 10?.
MANAWAfU RACING CLDB. (BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Palmerston, Last Night. At the Manawatu Racing Club's autumn meeting to-day the following were the results: — Flying Handicap. Amphion, 1; Maid Marion, 2 ; Coin and Ben Varrey (dead heat), 3. Dividend, £2 19s. Handicap Hcedles.—Plain Bill, 1 ; Sylvan us, 2 ; Artist, 3. Napoleon fell at the first hurdle, and the rider (Laug) was badly shaken, but not seriously hurt. Dividend, £2. Manawatu Racing Club Handicaf.— Douglas, 1; Voltigeur, 2; Lorelei, 3. Dividend, £l3 ss.
