THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.
(by telegraph,—own correspondent). Wellington, Last Night. Mr Nicholas Reid declines to contest the City vacancy on the score of illhealth.
The Liberal Electoral League lias nominated Mr E. C. Kirk, solicitor, as a candidate, and it is probable that he will be the Government candidate.
The election is causing considerable excitement, a large number of new names beiug enrolled.
