MESSRS A. BUCKLAND AND SONS' SHEEP FAIR.

GOOD PRICES RULING. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Pons held their annual sheep fair at their yards, Remuera, on Tuesday. Over 0000 sheep wete penned, the number Leiug made up of about 4000 ewes, 1000 lambs, 1000 wethers, and 300 rams. The attendance of bidders was large, and the competition was very spirited. Mr Scagar Buckland was the auctioneer, and deserves high commendation for the manner in which he disposed of the 1 ts. The low price of wool and scarcity of feed had prepared the sellers for very ordinary prices, but they were agreeably suiptised as the sheep went off at handtome figures. The sheep were all elis posed of except a few lots of Southdowns nud Shropshire*, which were not in demand. Ewes fetched from 3s 3d, 5s Od, Gs Gd, 7s (id, 8s up to 10s. Wethers brought 4 >, 5s od, G? Gd, 7s Gd up to about 9*. Lambs only went as high as 6s Gd, and ac low as 3s 3d. The rams realised splendid prices, and the high figure of 17| guineas was given for one of Mr J. R. McEluain'a (Wttiuku) rams. He was a remarkably fine nn'mal, and was purchased by Mr A. B. Baiter, «ho annexed most of the high-priced" lo's. Other rams went for £lO, G, 5, 4 and 3 guineas, and down to about 13s.—-Her.ld.
