The date of the annual meeting of subscribers for election of new committee, etc., was fixed for Mi nday, 2ht February, at 8 p.m., in the reading-room. The report and balance-sheet for the year will be pub lished in a future issue. Harvest Festival—The annual harvest festival in connection with St. John's Anglican Church was he'd o:i Sunday everrng last. As there was no resident clergyman in the district, the service was taken by Mr C. A. Bowden, one of our local laymen. There was a splendid congregation present, the church being literally packed. The decoration], although very pretty, were not to bo compared with thos3 of the R -v. \V. H. Wilson's ti nc, and our old friend was very much missed. Owing no doubt to the wretched sca~ou there was a great scarcity of both fruit and flowers. During the service a sacred solo was suug by Dr. Helen Burnaby. Bain.—Rain, which was very much reeded in this district, fell during Monday and Tuesday. Already the fields have a greener appearance.—(Own Correspondent).
