Hides : Market is very firm for all good lines. We sold heavy stout ox at s|d to 6Jd ; stout ox, 4£d to 5d ; light and medium, 3|d to 4j-d ; cow hides, in keen demand, best, 3yd to 3£d ; kip, 3j-d to 3|d ; calf, sound, 4d to 5} I. Sheepskius : Lambs' sold at Is 5.1 to h 9d ; salted pe-lts, Is 2d to Is 5d ; dry, 4d to lOd ; dried wool skins, to od lb. Tallow: In pood eh mand. Best rendered U worth 12s to 13s ; fat, $1 to Id lb. Horse hair : Finds ready tale at Is Id to Is 3d lb: cow hair, fld to lOd. Bones are worth £3 to £3 2s 6 1 ton. Oats : Supplies from the South have been sufficient for all requiierr.ents. Sales have been made as low as 2s 4Jd c.i.f. of"B" grade, but this standard cannot be replaced under 2s Maize : Until the arrival of the Waiotahi, on Mo: day, sailers were ho'diug for 2s 6d on the wharf, but on account tf one or two weak holders of shipments by that vessel *he market fell to 2s 4d on Monday, a fair quantity being taken into store, and about 800 sacks sliippcd to Sydn«y. Chaff : The market for new is very weak ; the best sales reported are £3 to £3 os ton at railway, sacks extra. Potatoes: A:rivals this week have been v« ry heavy ; present price is £5 to £5 103 tou.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weskly Report.—At the Haymarket, meadow h..-y has brought from 2s 3d to 4s ; oaten sheaves, 2s 3d to 3s ; pressed hay, 3s 6d ; chaff, 3s 6d to 4s 9 i ; bran. 4< 3d cwt ; maize, 2s 8d ; oats, 2s od bushel ; Little's sheep dip, 6s gallon ; maize on whai f, 2s 6d bushel. On Fi iday the horee market was fairly filled. Increased business follows the new yards. Praught colts, unbroken, brought from £lB 10s to £2B Ub ; medium draught, with trials, £l2 to £lB ; horse, tiap, and harness, £2B ; two bugg : cs, £2O each ; gig, £lB, were among the sales effected privately; 60 Romney rams, lh guineas each. On Tuesday, hides, in average number, maintained the impioved values cf la3t week. Ox hides langed from Bfd to 4jd ; cow hides, 3id to 3Jd ; calfskins, 3|d to 4J-d ; fat, id lb ; tallow, 10s to lis 3d cwt; bones, 3s cwt ; sh-ep pelts, Sd to 3s 5d ; lambs' pelts. 101 to Is lOd each ; lambs' wool, 4.Jd to s£d ; fleece wool, 4ifd to Od ; packs, 2d lb. At Remucra on Thursday dairy cows of choice quality were better worth ; thos« at profit ranged from £5 5* to £G 17--* 6d each. Store cattle more numerous than usual, at late values.
