PIRONGIA.
Fire. —On Monday afternoon last the dwelliughbuse of Mr. George Harper and fi-mily was entirely consumed liy fire. At the time of the occurrence Mrs Harper and two of her daughters were at home, when they observed smoke and fire issuing from the roof of the house. As eo ntighl ours wrro near to assist, one </f the Misses Harper ran to the township for assistance, while Mrs Hirper and the other daughter removed what they could from the building, which burnt rapidly. Young Reynolds went on horseback from the township, followed by Missis Miles, Appleyard, Harper, and othes, and succeeded in saving some of the furniture and effects, but the greater portion, owing to the rapidity of the fire, there being a strong wind b'owing at the time, could net be removed and was consumed. Mr Harper has been unfortunate, as this is the iccond fire fiom which he has suffered within a short time, as it is only a few months ago he was burnt cut from a building and workshop here. Fires have for some days been burning round and about the house, and no doubt a spaik lo.iging in the suing'es was the cause cf the fire. Great sympathy is felt here for Mr Harper and family in their misfortune.—(Own Correspondent)
