CHAT WITH A FAMOUS BOXER.
HIS BIGGEST BATTLE. DURING the last few years I have met many exponents of the fistic art, and einly the other elay it was my good fortune to come across Mr Beattic, whose ring expediences have been freely chronicled in the press. So said a representative of tho Balmaiu Observer, who had called on the gentleman at his residence, 32, Brougham-street, Glebe, Sydney, to get sonic special information. " You must know," remarked Mr Beattie, " that I have held tho amateur lightweight championship, and, in my time, have fought mo3t of the best men in the colony. When training for the lightweight championship of the colouy I broke down, of course through overtraining. The very thought of a boxingglove or a punching-bag made me feel sick. I abandoned all hope of the championship aud took a complete rest. My arms and legs had given way, as it were, and 1 felt it was about as much as I could do to walk up as far as the park (close by) and sit down. I got into a very low state, my flesh lost its firmness and elasticity, my appetite was very poor, and I thought my fighting career was over for good. I tried several tonics, but instead of getting better, the opposite resulted, so I consulted two or three doctors, who said I only wanted rest, anrl they each in turn gave me some physic, but this only made me feel sick. It did me no good. One day I was sitting in the park in a hopeless sort of way, wondering if I should ever get my strength back, when I read in a newspaper the account of a cure in a case which seemed somewhat similar to my own. The remedy used was Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People. I bought a box. After taking a dozen pills or so, I noticed a most decided effect. They acted like a pick-me-up. I stuck to the pills and got stronger and more cheerful every day. I got back my lost appetite, and soon grew so well that I actually felt a longing to have a turn at the punching-bag again. I took four boxes altogether, and feel now as fit as a fiddle, and I intend to start training again almost immediately. I am sure that Dr. Williams' Pink Pills have put me right, and I consider them a splendid tonic for those indulging in heavy work, such as training, for I believe that strict training is the heaviest and most trying work in the world. I shall always recommend Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale Pce.plc to my fellow athletes when they go off colour." The action of Dr. Williams' Tink Pills for Tale People is directly on the blood, and thus it is that they are so famous for the euro of anosmia anel rheumatism, weak heart, scrofula, consumption, chronic erysipelas, anel restore pale and sallow complexions to the glow of health. They are also a splendid . nerve and spinal tonic, and thus have cured many cases of paralysis, locomotor ataxy, neuralgia, St. Vitus' dance, and nervous headache. They are sold by chemists, and by Dr. Williams' Medicine Company, Wellington, New Zealand, at 3s a box, or six for los 9d, but are genuine only with full name on each box. See that your chemist gives you Dr. Williams' and that beeloes not substitute something just as gooel when making your purchases. The " just as good " kind cost him les3 money, and he is looking out for his pocket, not your health.
