CROWN LANDS BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held in Auckland on Tuesday. The following is a summary of the lands disposed of between the dates, December 18th, 1897, and January, 189 S. Ordinary light of purchase, 5617 acres ; leases in perpetuity, 3273 acre 3 ; cash selections, 2514 acres. Total, 42 selectors, 11,404 acres. A number of settlers in Papamoa, Papamoa No. 2, Waoku, and Te Tumu blocks obtained an extension of time to be non-resident. The Board opposed the authorising of Mr Hursthouse to use his discretion in the expenditure of the Harihari "thirds." Schemes for the expenditure of "thirds " were received from Raglan County Council (Pirongia Riding) and Kirikiriroa aud Huntly Road Boards.--Approved. J. Grant applied for lease of certain land at Waiotapu to run his horse on when carting to Rotorua ; area about five acres.—Approved.
