THE LATE BUSH FIRES.
(by telegkaph—own co-respondent). Pahiatua, Last Night. The Hon. Mr Walker visited the fire stricken districts on Saturday and yesterday. In reply to a deputation he said he would recommend the Government to remit the rents and supply grass seed to those burned out. He gave £2O to the relief iund. In the recent fires in Pahiatua 41 houses, one church, and one creamery were destroyed.
