Consequent on the wool sale the usual fale of hides did • not take place. At the cattle sales, held respectively at Pokeno and Drnry, .there were not as many yarded as usual ; harvest operations beiug general will account for it. Dairy cows at or . near : calving were firm at late values ; weaned calves in better demand, grown cattle at low relative values. At the wool 6ales on Wednesday prices obtained, with the exception of lambs, -were, in our opinion, fully equal to those Ruling in the first sale. All clean wools sold freely at the auction. Those with-' " drawn were from recently - occupied r stations, and more or less dirty, and - consequently wasteful. At Remuera on : Thursday dairy cattle yarded numerously/were not required,' and at low : -valuee.
