The Nkw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), report :—Auckland Wool Stores, January 12.—At our weekly sale on the 11th instant, a large catalogue of hides, skins, and bags of wool was dealt ivith. Wool sold freely, at equal to last sales prices. Fleece, s|d to 6jd ; cotts, 5(1 to sj<\; Jambs, 4d to s£d : plecea and bellies, 2}d to 4|d ; dead, 3kl to sjd ; locks, Id to 24,d. We will "offer a large and attractive catalogue of 1600 bales at the sale on the 19th. Hides in active demand, at an advance of ]d to id lb on stout hides. No extra stout were offered. We sold : Stout ox, 5d to sjd ; heavy, 4Jd to 4fd ; light and medium, 3id to 4d ; cow, 3jd to 3fd, for all sound lines. Calf in poor demand, 4d to 3d, for best ; kip, 3d to 3Jd ; stags, to 2§d, Sheepskins sold at equal to last week's prices. Pelts, salted, Id to Is sil ; lambs, Is 3d to Is Sd ; dry skins, 4Ad to od lb. Tallow in good demand. Best lines for tanner's use to 143 3d ; medium, rendered, 12s Gd. Horsehair in. good demand, at Is Id to Is 3d. Cowhair, 9d to 10d ; tails, Is 4d. Bones are worth £3 to £3 6s ton. The market weak. Oats : The market is bare. Prcseut price, 2a 3d to 2s 3jd c.i.f. Maize : The demand from Sydney is very keen, and prices have risen to 2s on the wharf. A further rise is anticipated. Chaff : New chaff is beginning to come into the market, and sales have been made as low as £3 10s, sacks extra, but old chad' is selling at £4 to £4 d*. Messrs AliFbed Bdckland and Sons' Weekly Report.— At the Haymarkot meadow hay brought 2s 9J cwt; wheat straw, £1 to £1 53 load ; pressed lny, £3 ; chaff, £3 15s to £4 10-s; Biggs' Bundarra bonedust, £6 15s; Chesterfield guano, £3 10s; superphosphate, £5 2s 6d ; blood manure, £5 ; bran, £4 ; rock Ealt, £4 ton ; ma'zc, 2s 74 ; oats, 2-) 6d ; barley, 2s 2d; wheat, 4s 3d bushel ; maize on wliaif, 2s 5d and 2s G 1 bushel. On Friday horse stock, yarded in moderate number, were at late values. Medium draught, from £l3 to £23; hacks, £6 to £lO ; inferior, from 10s to £3 each ; a spring cart brought £7 15s. On Tuesday hides, pitched in full number, sold briskly at an advance in values. Ox hides mostly brought fiom 3.Jd to 51 ; cows', 3}d to 3§d ; calfskins, 4J,d to 4|d lb ; tails, Is 3d dozen ; tallow, 12s Gd to I2i 9d cwt; fat, Id to IJd lb ; skins in moderate number, kept late values from 2s to 4s lid ; pelts, lOd to Is lid ; lambskins, la to Is Sd each ; bags and dumps of wool were at late values. Floeo wool from 5d to G.{d ; locks, l.ld to 2£d ; pieces, 3d to ihd lb. At Waiuku on Saturday a moderate muster of cittle sold freely. Dairy cows were from £3 to £5 ; weaned calves, 10a to 21s each. At the special sale held at Mr Wallace's on Monday, the sheep sold at low values. Cows were in fa ; r demand and brought from £3 to £5 15s each ; a yearling bull, £6. The horse stcck brought cood values, am' ranged from £2O to £3O 10s each. At Rcmuer-i on Thursday, dairy cows in usual number were at late values ; those at profit were from £4 to £6 10s each. Fat and young calves in limited number ; 40 yarded obtained no improved value. Fat cattle in usual supply ; 230 yarded were without alteration from last week's values. Steers of fair to good quality brought from 15s to 17s ; cows, 12s to 14s the 1001 b ; steers were from £-5 5s to £8 12s Gd ; cows, £3 to £3 7s Gd each. Fat sheep in full number ; 1400 sold were steady in pi ice throughout the sale at last week's values. Wethers brought from 7s Gd to ]Qs 9d ; ewes, 7s "to 8s 3d each, Stoic sheep in limited number ; 3GO Eold. Wethers were from 4s to 6s ; aged ewes, os 9d ; lambs, 3s 3d to 4; each. Fat lambs short of requirement, advanced in value, were from 6s to 10* 6d each.
