PIRONGIA.

Influenza.—Quite a serious epidemic of influenza has vi-ited this district, but few families escap'ng from it. Amongst them the manager of our local crc.uneiy, Mr Robert Kay, has taken it very seriously, so that he had t) be removed to his home on Saturday last. The milk supplicrsonSundiiYmcrn'lHVvhoona iiv ing with their milk at the creamery found no one to put their mi.k through, were thoroughly taken by surprise, and would have had to have taken it back home again tut for Mr Chappcll, who volunteered to put the milk through for them; this, with the assistance of the manager's young brother, who lighted the fire and started the engine, he satisfactorily succeeded in doing, much to the relief of the suppliers ; being both amateurs to the business, they of course were somewhat slow in getting through the work, eo the only difference was a little longer delay at the factory. Mr Spragg has since sent up another manager until the popular Mr Kay recovers, which hi 3 many friends wish will be speedily. Rain.—More rain is badly needed here, as the grass is getting very scarce, and the supply of milk to the factory considerably decreasing.—(Own Corrcspondent).
