The Waikato Argus Office, Monday. SALE AT WHATAWHATA. At the sale, held last Thursday, by Mr W. J. Hunter, of Mr A. T. McKnight's farm, stock, etc., there was a pcor attendance, but fair prices were realised. Neither the farm nor the Whatawhata township property was sold. Prices for stock were as follows : Cows, £2 to £3 10d ; heifers, £1 10a to £2; calves, 14s; bull, £1 10s ; fit wethers, 6s ; harness horses, £5 5s to £6 15s; light horses, £2 to £4 ; dray, £9 10s ; single plough, £5 2s 6d; spring cart, £10; milk cans, £1 each. AUCKLAND MARKETS. Mr E. Turner's Wkekly Report.— Fruit has sold exceptionally well this week considering the holidays are all over. On account of pressure of business I wa3 unable to write the usual report for the two holidays. Below is my highest and lowest price for the past week, privately or by auction :—Plums, 2d to 3Jd lb ; pears, Id to 3d ; apples, Is 6(1 to ss, small cases ; peaches, large, Brig's May, Is 6d to Is 9d per <!</.. ; Early Rivers, 4£d to 9d, according to size ; grapes, 8d to la 4d ; oranges (direct from Spain to Cotterell and Turner), large cases, 28s to 303 ; small boxes, 10s fid to S2s; these were the first landed in New Zealaud from Spain, and arrived in Bplendid condition. Norfolk Island onions, £4 10s to £6 ton; potatoes, Shepherds, £5 to £6 ton ; Kidneys, £6 to £7 ton ; lemons, 3s fid to 6s case ; prices of poultry remain about as last report. Mr J. Mr Alexander Aitken's Report.— The season having now fully set in, I find it necessary to sell all fruits daily, so that my large mart may be kept fairly clear. All lines of fruit are realising well. Eggs, butter and potatoes are all on tho rise. Maizo and oats are also firming, and chaff is again scarce. Bacon dull of sale. Hams scarce and si lling well. Poultry in short supply, and good bright lots firmed up a little. Pigs were all cleared at full valuer. Vegetables in full supp'y and selling at tip-top prices.
