ANNUAL picnic. This long-looked-for eveat came off last Tuesday most successfully. Mr Gillett's grounds were oir.e more offered and used. Tney are undoub'cJ'y the most dc ightful for picnic*, and both teachers and children will long remember the kindness of Mr and Mrs Gillctt. Owing to the liberality ot Messrs Mullions, Moachem, Hobbs and E lgecumbe, the youngest children were taken to and fro in buggies. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. names and races were going on, with intervals for refreshments. Every child obtained a prze. The winners of the chief events are as follows : Standard I.—Bays, G. Reed r girls, P. Edgecumbe. Standard 11. Boys, T. Pearson ; gHs, B. Manning. Standard lll.—Boys, J. Honeybun; girls, A. Allen. Standard IV.—Boys, F. Winter; girls, A. IJavics. Standard V. Boys, M. Callaghan ; girls, M. Clements. Standard VI. —Boys, A. Primrose; girls, E. Honeybun. Pole Jump.—M. Forbrs. Needle and Thread Race.—J. Tristram. Sack Race.—A. Wiiitakcr. Reverse Race. Windsor and W. Coombcs. Booby Race.—F. Cowley. Wheelbarrow Racj. Whitakcr and J. Davies. High Jump.—A. Primrose. - High Jump (under 13).—A. Whitakcr.
