CABLE SUMMARY.
A DASTARDLY attempt was made to dynamite the German theatre at Prague while the building was full, but fortunately the plot was not successful. , William Trapscott, a well-known Liverpool ship-owner, has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment for embezzling £36,000. Herr Borchgrevinck has purchased the steamer Pollux at Christiana, Norway, and is fitting her out for an Antarctic exploring expedition. Millar, of Chicago, won tho six days' 'cycling contest, covering 2093 suiles. The Amateur Athletic Association will welcome the team of athletes proposed to be sent from Australasia, but will not assist financially. The Association has refused alliance with the American Athletic Union. Excitement prevails in Hayti. As the outcome of the recent concessions to Germany, the Ministry have resigned. The mob is clamouring for President Theresias Augustin Simon Sam to be replaced. The London and South-western and Midland Ruilway Companies have granted their employees special payment for Sunday work, besides other concessions.
