ENGINEERS' STRIKE.

'£ol London, December 13. NISIXY-FiVE per cent, of the engineers rejected the proposuls made by the employers at the recent conference. The cotton spinners have decided to lend, the sum of £IOOO to tho engineers, and to contribute a levy of Gd tier man per week. Colonel Dyer, President of the Employers' Federation, declares that the Socialists caused the wholo dispute, and that the Employers' Federation were the kindest friends the workmen ever had.

As one result of tho Engineers' strike, the output at the Wear shipbuilding yards has decreased by 27 vessels, representing 37,000 tous.

The American Federation of Labour declines to appeal to organised labour for funds in support of the British engineers.
