SERIOUS THOUGHTS.
WHO ARE THE UPRIGHT ? They arc those •whom God lias tnado so by HU Holy Spirit. They aro the men to whom he has given renewed spirtinl life; whom Ho has enibled to sec their trno state by nature. They are the fruit of Hia Son's mediation, and He has drawn them to Christ to seek His pardon, and to be wa.shed and cleansed in His precious blood. Their Unguago before God is, " Lord ! wo nre sinful, helpless, and hopeless without thy salvation ; *in is a burden to us: rave u«, or wo shall parish." Sucli are the upright. They cling to the Lord Jesus, whom thay know to bo their Redeemer. They reply sjlely on His righteousness to clothe them. Govl loved them boforo they loved Him. They are tho reflection of His own image, and Ho has loved them with an everlasting love. God delights in them. Thn i» a blessing which is not understood by tho unconverted, but tho upright value this precious assnranoe of the Lord.—Eng'ish Churchman
