ENGINEERS' STRIKE.
London, November 19. Mr Barnes, secretary of the Engireers' Society, says it is probable the Conference will result in the existing difficulty being settled within a fortnight. The lockout committee has intimated that a reduction in hours to 48 per week is essential, and adds that the workers must abolish sectional trades union fights. The committee has airanged for a national organisation for the workers on lines limilar to those of tho employers' organisation. November 20. Mr Sellicks, President of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, has been appointed engineers' chairman at the Conference with the employers, to be opened on Wednesday. The representatives of the Federated employers will be selected from the executive committee. The Allied Trades Joint Committee intend to submit the decisioa of the Engineering Conference to the members of the amalgamated kindred societies.
