McNICOL AND CO.'S HORSE SALE. Messes McNicoi. and Co. report:—At the special horse sale in the Hamilton Borough Yards yesterday and to-day some two hundred and fifty horses were yarded. The class was somewhat interior to that brought forward at the September sale, as was to be expected. About 130 horses changed hands, good sorts realising above medium prices. Unbroken draughts made up to £l9 10s, and unbroken carriage sorts from £5 to £l3. Heavy draughts and sorts suitable fur farm work were iu demand and sold treely, the former from £l4 10s to £25 and the latter from £l2 to £lB 10s. Upstanding hacks and good light harness sorts made from £8 10s to £l4 10s. Small hacks and stock horses, which were the most numerous class, sold from £2 upwards, and weeds and small kinds under this price. A large quantity of sundries was sold at good prices. AUCKLAND MARKETS.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), report :—Auckland Wool Stores, 17th November : We submitted a full catalogue of hides, skins, etc., at our usual Tuesday's sale. Hides wore very firm at late rates. Prime stout ox made SJ(I to 6Jd ; heavy .stout, 4Jd to f>id ; light and medium, 3.f-d to to 3h<\ ; sloppy, 3[d ; calf, 4Ad to sid ; kip,"3d to 3Jd. Sheepskins : "Prices were somewhat irrepular. Large, 5s to 5s Od ; picked, up to 6s (id ; small and medium, 3s (id to 4s 9.1 ; dry skins, 4d to 5d petlb. Tallow: lis 9il to 12s Cu per cwt., according to quality. Wool : Fleece sold up to 6d ; pieces, to 4d ; and dead, yd per lb. Horns, boues, horse and cow hair at lata values. Oats : Owing to advice of bcavy shipments to arrive by sailers, the market is a little unsettled, but prices remain about the same, »jy. , 2s )£(l c.i.f. Maize : Arrivals during the week have been light, and 2s on wharf is still current value. Chad': The market is weaker owing to heavy shipments from the South, and local being sent in freely. Prime Southern is worth £4, 53, c.i.f., sacks in. Potatoes : The market is glutted, and prices are nominal, some lots having been sold as low as £1 ton to clear. New sorts are now plentiful, consequently there is very little demand for old. Messrs Alfred Bcckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket straw brought from 17s to £1 12s ; hay, 15s to £1 Is load ; maize, 2s 2d ; oats, 2s 5(1 to 2s Sd bushel ; pressed hay, 3s ; pressed straw, 3s ; oaten chaff, 3s 9d to 4s (id ; guano, 3s b'd ; bonedusc, (is od ; potato manure, 7s cwt ; maize on wharf, "2s bushel. On Friday horse stock in moderate supply were at late values. Medium draught, from £ll to £lB ; light harness, £6 to £9 each. On Tuesday hides were eagerly competed for at fully last week's values. No extra stout pitched. Prices for ox hides were from 3Jd to od ; cow hides, 2£d to 3{d ; stags, 2d : calves, 3|d to s£d ; hair, 9d lb ; tails, Is 4il dozen ; bones, 3s Od ; tallow, Jls 3d to 12s cwt ; fat, Id to IJrl lb; sheepskins, 2s b'd to 5s 9d ; lambs, Is to Is 4d; pelts, 9d to lid each ; Lincoln wool, Od ; crossbred, 6jd and 6A.1 ; locks, 1-J-d to 3£d lb. At Pokeno cattle in usual supply were without alteration in value. Cows and heifers ranged from £3 to £4 10s ; calves, 16s to £1 Is each. At Drury, on Wednesday, the largest number of cattle yarded this season was penned. There was a numerous attendance and steady bidding throughout. Grown steers brought from £4 7s to £5 10s ; three-year-old steers, £3 5s to £3 15s ; two-year-old steers, £2 5s to £2 15s ; dairy cows at profit, £3 to £5 7s 6 I ; dry cows, £1 10s to £2 12s; yearlings, £1 10s to £2; calves, 14s to .CI 4s each. At Kemuera, on Thursday, dairy cows, in moderate supply, were at late values ; prices ranged from £3 to £6 0s each. Store cattle in usual supply. JJry cows kept late values, ifoung store cattle at loner prices. Calves numerous, scarcely kept late values ; 70 sold. Fat cattle in full number, 230 yarded ; of those 30 wore passed, and with the exception of the show cattle ptitcs were lower. For steers of medium to good quality 15s to 1!m the 1001 b were the ruling prices. The prize steers shown at Waikato and Auckland ranged in price from £S 10s to £ll 15s. The prize cows, £lO to £7 12s (id. With those exceptions fat steers ranged from £4 12s (id to £'S ; cows, C 3 10s to £5 12s Oil each. Sheep in average supply, 1250 sold, were at lower values, from Is to 2s each. Wethers in their wool were from 12s 3d to 13s 9d ; shorn, 0s 9d to 10s (id ; shorn ewes, 7s in 103d each. Lambs, short of requirement, 210 sold, brought from Ss to 13s each. Pigs in full numbers, 130 sold, many of them small stores, brought extreme prices.
