It is understood that the Employers' Federation is willing to discuss tho hours of labour at any Conference which may bo held with the engineers on condition that the lock-out shall be enforced until a final settlement of the difficult}' is arrived at. In disproof of recent statements on the part of the Engineers' Society.the engineering employers have 'ssued a statement showing that the action of the Unionists he a resulted in the restriction of the output and in interference in the management of the workshops. The Unionists insist upon the appointment of a neutral chairman to preside over the proposed Conference.
