BALL AT WHATAWHATA.
As a wind up to the dances, which have been lie d imntlily during the past, winter, a plain and fancy dte-s ball—organised by the young ladies of tlie district—came o(T in Iwerson's Hall on Wednesday evening last. The weather proved fine, but the roads were bad, ami there being no n-.oon many were prevented from coming, though some vi.-i tors were present from Ngaruawahia and Raglan. The fan:}' costumes of the ladies were varied and tasteful, but it is needless to particularise. Tlie hall was decorated for the occasion, and good dance music was provided by Mrs F. Story and the Missvs Swanson and Iwerson, Mr W. MoCutcheon acting most cfliciently as M.G. It is proposed to get up a concert during the coming month in aid of the volunteer rifle butts, the date and particulars of which will be duly notified in The Aug its. — (Own Correspondent).
