There was a good muster of daiiy eows, but most of them were of medium quality. There was a fair demand for good cows. Grown steers wei e well represented ; there was a good demand, and everything in that line sold. Two-year-old steers and empty cows were'also selling well. Calves were h bit easier. Beef was plentiful and in demand at what was considered good prices. With the exception of calves, the tone of the market had an upward tcudeuey. There were not many pedigree animals, only one, as far as I could hear, could boast a pedigree, and that one was bred at Rotorangi and fetched the highest price, one bred by Mr R. Bosanko coming next. Although, with the one exception mentioned, they were all grade bulls, several of them were really good animals and elicited good competition. With one or two exceptions, every one was sold under the hammer. The opinion was that prices were high. The following arc the particulars : —McLaren : 1 two-year-old Shorthorn bull, £7, Tucker.
