SALE. Ox Tuesday at Mr W. J. Hunter's sale about 450 head of cattle were yarded, of a rather mixed variety. About tifty dairy cows, most of them young springers, were entered. There was a fair demand for those of a eood class. Anything good fetched their full value, cows up to £O, and a young springing heifer made £5 10s, the highest price for a three-year-old heifer this season. She was a real good one, and was sold by Mr, W. J. Thompson and bought by Mr J. Corrigan. Calves were dull of sale, hut there was a fair demand for yearlings and two-year-olds. Several pens of grown steers were offered, some of which were well-bred and in good condition, and some rather coarse animals, but the bidding was languid ; however, after a good deal of persuasion on the part of the auctioneer, most of them were sold at about their value, the highest price for fresh steers being £5 ss. Empty cows sold fairly well, but very few of a good class were offered. Beef a'so sold fairly well, considering the low price ruling in Auckland.
