Lor.D McOkfgor, by Lord Salisbury out of the imported mare Queen, is now four years old. He is a rich bay, stand - ins over 17 hands high, of grjtld bone and substance, fine temper and a splendid constitution. Queen was by Mr Dan. McGregor, of Oamaru, and gained many prizes at the local shows ; was by Lord Haddo, dam Maggie, by Muir Lad (imp) Lord Haddo was first shown as a yearling at Oamaru and giued second prize ; as a two-year-old he also gained second prize at Oamaru in a very large ring ; as a three-year old he gained the first prize at Oamaru, and the following year he carried off the first prize and Champion ticket, beating five imported stalbons. Lord Haddo h by the famous imported sire Young Banker, out of the imported Clydesdale mare Ludy H ddo. Fleming, of Knockdere, Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland, was imported to New Zealand when two years old by Mr W. Boag. Prince Charlie was "first in his class for three years in succession ; he al.so carried off the Champion Me:lal on all three occasions, besides other and special prizes at the Metropolitan Show in Chriatohui ch. Sire. Prince Alfred (618, 5.C.5..8)--dam, Darling, by Samson, alias Logan's Twin (714, S.CS.B.). Prince Alfred, with an unbeaten record, was the property of Mr James N. Fleming, Rc'd. Campbelltown, Ayrshire, Scotland ; sire, General (322 S.CS.B.)-dam, Jean, by Prince (603, S.CS.B.). General was bred by Mr Thomas Merton, Dalmure, East Kil pat rick, Dumbartonshire, and the propci ty of Mr David Riddle, Kilbowie, Dnntochcr ; sire, Sir Walter Scott (7'J7), the Duke of Hamilton's horse—dam, Maggie, alias Darling, winner of the lu»t piize at the 11. and A. Society's Show at Glasgow in 1857 as brood mare. General was first at the H. and A. Society's Show at Inverness in 18G5, and was sire of Drew's Prince of Wales and numerous other renowned sires. The above proves Foreign Policy to be descended from the purest Clydesdale blood both at Home aid in the Colonies, and cannot fail to make a first-class sire. His stock at Invercargill and Gore, two and three years old, are very promising colts ami some of his fillies have changed hands lately at big figures. Foreign Policy gained First Prize at Mataura and Gore at \\ years old ; First Prize and Champion Medal at Invercargill at 4 years old, he also took First and Champion Prizes at Rangiora in 1895.
