On the Sharemarket, several stocks showed an upward tendency, and there was slightly better demand for lowpriced shares in the Upper Thames Companies. Tor Hit-or-Miss and Grace Darling shares, la t'cl was offered. The starting of the Komata reef company's battery caused an inquiry to-day for shares in the Komata, with sales at low figures. Rising Sun shares changed hands at Cd ; Stanleys, (i.l and Waihi Kxtendeds, 9.1. Inquiries were made today for Woodstocks it 20s, with fellers at 255, Talismans eased down a little in price. In Thames stocks, sales of Alburnias were reported at 3$ Bd, while 10s was offered for Moanatairais, 2s 5d for Monowais, and 3s Cd for Kuranui-Calsdonians.JMay Quceen shares improved in price, buyers making an advance of 4d upon yesterday's offer. Coromaudcl stocks had more attention to-day. Hauraki North shares sold at 2s to 2s Id, ami Four-iu-Hands at Is Id. tircat Barrier stocks were firmer. 8s 3d being offered for shares in the leadirjg con,par>y of that name, but none were offered under 9s 6d. lona shares sold at Is Gd and Is 2d, and original Great Barriers <it Is Id.
