COMMERCIAL.

The Waikato Argus Office, Monday. MR HUNTER'S CAMBRIDGE SALE. Mn W. J. Hunter held his Spring cattle sale at Cambridge, on Saturday, when the yards, and even the sheep pens, were full to overflowing. The young cattle were an exceptionally good lot, but the bidding was decidedly dull, and a large number were passed in, owing to settlers wanting quite as much as they did last year, notwithstanding the drop in beef. However, most of those passed at auction, were afterwards disposed of privately. Buyers were present from Raglan, Waingaro and Auckland, and they took a large number of young cattle out of the district. Buyers would have the best quality, and Messrs Atkins', Grey's Allwill's and Rhodes' animals sold readily. The following were the prices made :—Strong calves (mixed sexes) a large lot quitted at, 2Cs Gd ; steer calves, 30s ; yearlings steers, 33* 6d to 39s ; two-year-old steers, £2 10* to £2 15? ; three-year-old steers, £3 lis to £4 10s ; store cows, £2 10s ; fat cows and heifers, £4 10b.
