TROUBLE IN INDIA.
MORE FIGHTING. Calcutta, August 19. General Sir Bindok Blood, in command of tho British troops at Malakand, found 3000 Swatis at Bandikar. In the figbting which followed, Lieuts. Greaves and Mnclaren were killed, the latter when trying to rescue the body of Greaves. The whole of the Peshawar border is iu a state of fanatical unrest. The Afridis and Orakzais, two of tho neighbouring tribes, are seriously distrusted. Reports from Peshawar havo been received, stating that a body of Afridi tribesmen are marching upon Jamrud, a strong fort at the mouth of the Kbyber Pass, 12 miles west of Peshawar, whilst the Orakzais are marching in force upon Kuram Fort, another strategic position on the frontier of Afghanistan, 25 miles southwest of Jamrud. Tho Sikh outposts are concentrating at Fort Lockhart, to intercept the march of the tribesmen. The wives and children of the officers and men belonging to the repiment havo retired to Hangu, midway helween Jamrud and Kuram, where a British foit is situated.
