CHARITABLE AID.

(BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT) Donedin, Last Night. At a meeting of the Charitable Aid Board a letter was approved off, stating that it would bo inadvisable to suggest that the funds applied to Charitable Aid should be made a charge oa the Consolidated Fund, as there is some check upon the disposal of the funds by the present system. The Board prefers to await the issue of the proposed legislation before discussing it, and as it is thought the proposed conference in Wellington would carry strati weight, the Board considers the expense of sending delegates thereto is not warranted.
