UNEQUALLED Rjn REARING AND FaTTEXISO Stock of all Kinds. T Ub of Oil Cake contains as much food as 171 b of Turnips. NO CALF SHOULD BE REARED WITHOUT OIL CAKE.—The expense of Oil Cake is the objection usually made to its use. We can show that it is more economical to use it, and makes money for the user. Quarter of a pound per day of Oil Cake in separated or skim milk will cost under 2s for the period during which the Calf requires special feeding. The improvement in the weight and condition of the Calf is worth several times that amount, besides giving it a sound constitution. Stauved Calvesmean Wekdy Cattle. For use the finely-ground Oil Cake i 3 best prepared by steeping in boiling water for 12 hours before using (cold water will do, but hot is preferable), and adding either to heated separated milk, skim milk, buttermilk, or whey. BULLOCKS. —lt has been proved that stall-feeding pays in New Zialand. We have supplied a considerable amount of Oil Cake for this purpose, and the customers are all well pleased with the results. The enhanced value of the manure produced by the use of Oil Cake is in itself an important factor in this system. MILK COWS.—A large number of our friends give their milk cows a small quantity of Oil Cake, and find they are well repaid by the increased How and richer quality of the milk, and the improved condition of the cows. OIL CAKE FOR SHEEP.—We beg to draw the attention of sheep owners to the fact that we are now grinding our OIL CAKE AS FINE AS MEAL. 11l this form sheep can easily be fed on Oil Cake by mixing it in any proportion desired with chaff, and it is such a nutritious food that even a small quantity in the ton of chad' enormously increases the value of the latter as a food, aud will also improve the wool clip. ADVANTAGES OF USIIsG OIL CAKE FOR SHEEP. 1. The Medicinal Action of the Oil in the Cake—lt acts as a corrective to the " coldness " of the turnips, aud the " dryness " of the chaff, prevents the tendency to inflammation, and keeps tho sheep generally ill good condition. 2. The pre-eminent value of the Oil Cake consists in its richness as a food. It stands at the top of the list of nutritious foods ; and it is perhaps not too much to say that a judicious use of Oil Cake in feeding sheep during winter would do much to advance New Zealand mutton to a still higher place in the London Market than it at present occupies. HORSES, CATTLE AND STUD SHEEP FOR .SHOW PURPOSES.— For keeping this class in good condition and bringing them up to a first-rate "show" style, Oil Cake surpasses all other foods. This is well-known to breeders of prize stock. Stock of all kinds benefit largely from the use of Oil Cake, and in fact no farm or station should bo without it ; it soon restores strength to sickly stock and saves the lives of many valuable animals.
