THE BEST WAY TO CELEBBATE THE RECORD REIGN.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—The best way to celebrate the record reign appears to be at present the order ot the day with newspaper correspondents. I trust, Mr Editor, you will permit me at this seasonable opportunity to ofFif my humble sueecsti: ir I am a bit of a "Progressive Liberal" myself, and at best not too loyal to the Queen, but on this occasion I feel an overburdening sense of loyalty, which prompts me to do something to mark the important event. As my stiggos'ion is not an unreasonable one, 1 feel suro many business people will rejoice to sec it given effect to. It is this : As a splendid means of commemorating the the record reign in this district ever}one pay his. or her, debts. This, which many will hail with delight, would not, I believe, be a very difficult matter. I owe a few bills myself, and if no one else is going to celebrate the record reign that way I am, so as to be able to say : " For once, during the sixty years of the Queen's Reign, I was out of debt." —I am, etc., EXK.MI'LT GkATIA.
