Fruit (local) has been more plent'ful, owing to increased values, hence prices are unaltered. Jsland oranges are a great drug ; lemons are rather dull. Potatoes: Southern arc in supply far beyond consumption, hence they arc not realising any profit to importers. Locals are not saleable, and must be pitted in hope of improvement. Pumpkins, carrots, kumaras, and cabbages all sell at low prices. Grain generally unchanged. Butter : Dairy fresh is very plentiful, and lower in price ; the demand for uniform parcels of either dairy or factory remains unlimited, while nothing can be done with small and irregular lots.
