AUSTRALIAN EARTHQUAKES.

News from Kingston, in the south-east, states that earthquake shocks continue.' Over nioety have been experienced. Thirty were counted within five hours. A number of families are camping in tents, owing to their houses having become unsafe. Three hotels have been damaged. In one case all the occupants had to lodge in tents. At Wangoline, near Kingston, several dwellings were demolished. An infant ■was buried in the debris, but was recovered much bruised. Both at Wangoline and Mount Benson openings in the ground of considerable extent have occurred. Near Kingston the ground opened for many chains in length, varying from a quarter to six inches in width.

On the south side of Fellmongery Lake the ground and rocks have sunk three feet.
