Tim Waikato Akgtjs Office, Wcducsday. MESSRS MoNICOL AND CO.'S OHAITO SALE. On Tucsdav at Messrs McNieol and Co.'s attic about" '-'GO head of uattlu were yarded, mary of them of good quality and in forward condition. There was not a large attendance of the public, and the tone of the market was decidedly flat. Dairy cows were dull of sale, and «(> were grown steers, of which there were several pens of leally nice ones in forward condition, but only a few were sold under the hammer, t'alves were also lower in price than they have been for some time, and although there were several pens of very good calves in the market, none were sold under the hammer. There were about 20 head of fat cattle offered, but oidy a few were sold. Prices were as follows :—Daiy cows, £i 15s (no demand) ; eighteen-months-old steers, £_ ; empty cows from „l 18s to £2 7s ; cighteenmonths-old heifers, L'l 5s (id ; 1 pen of coarse three-year-old steers, £2 14s Cd; I pen of ciehteen-months-old steers, 335; 2 fat cows, .C 4; small fat heifers, .C2 10s Sheep : About COO were yarded, all of a very good class and in forward condition. There was a good line of wethers and ewes from Napier, and although they did not all sell under the hammer, they ■were all sold afterwards privately.
