The detachment of Mounted Rifles s-.iiled by the Oratava to-day. Brisbane, April 25. The detachment of Queensland Mounted Infantry to participate in the Queen's celebration sailed by thu Gtra. Wellington, April 24. The contingent who are going Home will be reviewed on Monday afternoon by the Acting-Governor. They leave in the Tulanekei at six p.m. on Tuesday for Lyttelton, and next day will be entertained by the Christch'urch Volunteers. They will take their final departure it) the Ruahine on Thursday. April 25. The Home Contingent, both European and Maori, headed by the Garrison Band, inarched to the proCathedral this morning, where they attended divine service. The men were dressed in the new Kharkee uniforms, and presented a good appearance. Their physique was generally commented upon in flattering terms. Lieutenant-Colonel Pitt was in command. Mtjor Sommerville has finally selected the team which he takes to represent New Zealand at Bisley, as follows : Richardson, Duuedin ; Simpson and Banks, Christchurch ; A. Ballinger (champion), Williams, Howe, and Hawthorne, Wellington ; Strachan, Wanganui: Hazard and Webster. Auckland. King, of Oamaru, one of the most prominent shots in the colony, states that he is unable to leave until the Rimutaka, but possibly he may yet be able to join the team, which sails from Lyttelton at two o'clock oh Thursday next in the Ruahine. The Martini-Henry rifles will not be wanted, as all the matches will be fired with the Lee-Metford.
