Alywakd —Regarding Alyw ard's ease, the Board decided to apply to the .son now reidtutat Waihi, to maintain lis father. Mi;s Wkkks.—A .short tine ago Airs Weeks, of Huntly, applied for chur'table iid, and the Boird asked Constable White for a report upon the eir.itnstances surrounding li r ease. Ti e constable reported that the lady in question was certainly not a fit and p oper p rson to receive ail, a'so that she trained hechildren as criminals and supported tl.ein in their wrong doing. A subsequent letter informed the Board tint on the Gih April, Mrs Weeks was convicted in two charges at the H* tly cut, an 1 sent to Mount Eden for one mouth. T c Board planted the sum of 5s per week t.wards the keep of the younger cfidren until Mm Weeks returns from goal, and tlu action of the Clerk in granting that sum p:r week until the inee iig of the Board was endorsed. —The reference to the Industrial School O'casi ned some di-et-sion —The Chiirnun said some vows ago the Government had given the Board a promise that in future no child would le com mitted to the Industrial School without first consulting the B?nrd, aril he tl.ought this should he (lone.—Soni3 of the members objected to the cxp n e of keeping children in the school, but Mr A. Bach very wisely observed tli t it was far better for the country and the Board to bring up the children properly than to have them brought up as criminals, as the country should certainly have to keep them at a far greater cost in the end. Apmishon ok Patients.—ln accordance with his notice of motion given at the last meeting, Mr Dey proposed that rule 'J,'? referring to the non admission of patients on Sunday and the hours of admission should be revoked ; his reason tor so do : ng being that the by-law was framed before the doctor was a resident one, and he thought the institution should bo made as widely u.-eful as possible. There was an idea that he was doing this in opposition to the doctor ; but he assured them such was not the case, and it was purely in 'he interests of the Hospital and the public.—Mr Teasdale seconded the motion, which wds carried unanimously.--The Hosp tal will now te open for the admission ef patients at any hcur of the day or night. KisniNATioN. Miss Mabel T. Deacon tendeied her resignation and asked to be relieved of her duties as probationer nurse at the end of the present month. She regretted that through ill-health she was unable to continue the same. —The res'anution was accepted with regret, and the Board decided to advertise for a probationer nurse to fill the vacancy, applications to be in by next meeting. Rei'okt. —ln his report the doctor stated that since the last meeting therhad been 35 admissions into the hospital, whde the uuinbsr of patient?! at present was 32, including eight fever patients. lli lief.—The usual relief for the month was passed. Milk.—Tie Chairman reported that Mrs Hill's tender for tie supply of milk to the hosp'tal had been accepted. Examination I .—The Secretary stated, in answer to a question from Mr Allen, that owing to the long hours the nurses had been compelled to wolk they had been unable to attend lectures, and these had, at their own leqiust, been abandoned for the present. Finance.—The fallowing is the state of the funds of the Board : —Cash in bank, £19(5 2s 9 1 ; contributions due, £llO7 ; Government subsidy, £I3OO ; less accounts to pay, £l9l 3s 9d.
