Hosr TAL CoNTUIIU'TIoN.—An instalment of X'loo on account of the Waikato Hospital contribution amounting to £398 9s was passed for payment. Thamwav.—The To Arolia tramway was hat.ded over again to the Arohi Gold Mines Company on the same terms as fo: nitrly. Tk Akoiia - Lichfield Road.—The Minis Department authoiised Bllbsidy amounting to X for C tip to C 125 for icpa:ring the Te Aroha-Lichfield Road. Katikati Tiiack.—Cr. Hcrrics, who was not present, wrote, advising the Council to put th'j Katikati track into r'.inh repair, as at present travellers were complaining bitterly about being compelled to no round by Wuihi. — After considerable discussion, it was decided to keep the road closed as at present. Tka.mway.—Messrs Steele Bros., of Tarukengn, asked for permission to erect a wooden train across the main Oxfo dKotorua It mil. Deferred till next meeting. "(ioi.Di'iKi.iis Rbvouk. Goldfields icvcnue amounting to i'22 8s Id was aiUised by the Department. GRANT. The Assistant SurveyorGeneral wrote, slating that the Council's lequest for C 175 to put the biidges on the Tirau-Ro'orna Bead in outer would be considered when the es'iirates for the coming year were being framed. Drains.-Mr N. A. Lfrncy, of Bam iston, complained that the earth from the road works near his place had silted up the di ain.—The Council agreed to clear out about 70 chains of the drain and til o open up the outfall.—Tenders will be ca led at once for the work, to be in within 14 days. Gobdos-W auaboa Boad Messrs Hazard and Johnson foi warded plans of two bridges required on the GordonWaharoa Road, and also asked the Council to let two more contracts for tilling in the swamps. These contracts, they stated would finish the route, with the cxc.ption of the formation.— It was decided to c;dl for tenders for the works to be in within a fortnight. Tin-: Late Floods.—The Tc Aroha Town Beard applied for £IOO towards the cost of repairing the damage done by the late Hoods. —A long discussion ensued upon the subject, and eventually the Council graoted the Board £4O towards the w oik. J{ ATIS —The Council decided to sttiko a general rate of J.d in the X, and a separate rate of h<\ in the Patetere Riding, and Jd in the Te Aroha and Taotaoroa Hidings, and notice of motion was given by the Chairman to that i fleet. Foiikman's Ri-vokt. —lii his report Foreman Mahotd recommi niltd several works within bis district which were authorised by the Council and left in the hands of Cr. Harriton to ileal wiih. Piako River Bkiduk.—Mr H. IT. Metcalte forwarded plans, etc., for the bridue over the Piako river, near Motraisviic—The Cot noil empowered Mr Metcalfe lo call for tenders for the work, to be in at next meeting. Wattam's Bireinr.—Foreman Wattani foi warded his report upon the various woiks which have been executed in his district since last meeting, ;ml recommended the following woiks, for which he enclosed specificat ons : Krccting a new bridge at Stoney Creek tn the Te Atoha Lichfield read; earthwork at the west end of Tc Aroha Railway Bridge on the Thames-Waikato road ; c rting metal on the Tc AiohaI/'ehlicld read ; reforming road at Waioicngomai ai d cutting drain ; cutting ami grueling hill m ar Nelson's gale on the Te Aroha-Lichfield load, and fo.milig at (he native reserve on the same road.— The specifications will be foi warded to Wellington for approval, after which tendcis will be at once called for the w o r k s. _^_
