TE AROHA HACK SPORTS.

THESE sports were held en Easter Monday at Mr Woods' racecourse. There was a very good at'eaelauce. The Te Aroha B ass Band cn'ivened the proceedings considerably ly difcoursing sweet music at intei vols Mrs McLean had a refreshment stall on the c tine, and lucious ham sindwichej and cups of really good tea were dispensed. Taihoa won both the Handicap Hurdle Race and the Faster Handicap, Lut in the latter race the icconei hoi so Orena was not ridden with the best of judgment. Memo ran a very strong second in the Mfiidt n Plate and the Hurdle; Race, and won the Forced Handicap without much dillictdty. The following are the results : M.vden Plate. Distance, 0 furlongs. —Dr. Forbes' Syren, 1 ; J. Rowe's Memo, 2. Eiuht started. Handicap Foot Race, 100 yards.--R. Johnson (12yd*), 1 ; A. Berry (14yds), 2 Eight started.

Handiap Hr/KDLE Race. Distance, l.| mile.—K. Becson's Taihoa (Ost 71b), 1 : J. Rowe's Memo (f»st 71b), 2. Donkey Race. Distance, 0 furlongs. Last horse past the post to receive the itakos. —There were five started, but Connelly's bobtailctl pony Happy won as he liked, although both whip and spur were freely appled. This race canted much amusement.

Easter Handicap. Distance, l mile. —F. Beeson's Tailra (Sst 70'), 1 ; R. Teddy's Ore m (10 t Gib), 2. Five started. iYon"by half a length. Handicap Pony Race. Distance, 5 furlong?.—J. McGeehan's Glenswilly (Ost), 1 ; G. Devcreli's Ruby (Ost), 2 Ten started. Won by two lengths.
