Rikl* Shooting Comfltitios. The shooting competition for the Knock Belt took place o.i Easti r Monday, at the Te Aioha r fie butts. The ranges were 500 anl u'oo yards, 10 shots at each, the result leiti' an easy win for Vol. J. Salmon. The following are the scores:— A'ol. J. Salmon, 73 ; Vol. Forrest, 6fl ; Vi 1. A numl er of prizes were given by Leal tradespeople to be shot for, the fortunate winners being Messrs Strange, Hickey, Fortes':, Bel'amy, Salmon and llanby. The money for the cash prizes was also subscribed locally. S.u'kkd Conc'kkt.— On Good Friday niglic a sacred concert was given ill tl e Town Hall, Te Aroin, by the Aucklaml Banjo, Guitar and Mandolin Club, which was fairly successful, consideiing the prices (f admission were 3s, 2s and Is. The entertainment itself did not quite come up to the expectations of tho e present. " Nuff .<ed." Visitors.—A Urge uunincr of people visited Te Aioha dining the Easter holidays, and the baths were in great demand.

VuLONTKER INSPECTION. Lieut. Col. Banks is to hold an inspection parade of the Te Aroha rifle volunteers to night (Thursday). Every member has been ordered to attend, which ought to ensute a full inus'er.

On Thursday labt a lcticr was postcil at Te Aroha in time to ca'eh the early morning mail for Rotorua via Moirinsville. From advices leoeived fro:r. Rotorua on Monday the letter had not reached its destination, although papers posted on Saturday (two d .ys later) had been duly received. On the 17tli Apr.l a local storekeeper presented a post-office order at the Te Aroha Post-cfli.'e, but tailed to get it cashed on account of the duplicate of advice not having arrived fr.in Ro'orua, although the odor in quest on was is»ued at Rotorua on the 10th iust., or s.x clear days before presentation at the Te Aroha Post-otliec These facts epeak for themselves, and the sooner an alteration is made tt e better.
