SITUATION CRITICAL., Berlin, April 19. Dh. LEYDS has arrived in Berlin. He declares that the situation in South Africa is very critical. Capetown, April 17. Nino warships belonging to the British Cape Squadron have left for Durban. Their object is not known. April 19. The presence of the British squadron at Durban is causing intenso interest in South Africa. PRETORIA, April 1!). The Rand mining groups intend to present a united petition to the Transviial Government asking for a settlement of grievances regarding the dynamite monopoly, liquors laws, and to grant reduced freights and customs tariff.
